Another thought

Isn't it a bit over-doing it putting instructions for use on a bottle of shampoo??

More about Violette

I'm still at a loss as to why Violette Szabo was not awarded the Victoria Cross, as Noor Inayat Khan should also have been awarded it (and Diana Rowden the GC, as well…).

If you look at the citation for a V.C. it reads in part

"most conspicuous bravery, or some daring or pre-eminent act of valour or self-sacrifice, or extreme devotion to duty in the presence of the enemy."

Source - http://www.operations.mod.uk/honours/honours.htm

And so, self-sacrifice and devotion to duty are not in question here, and as for presence of the enemy, well, let's put it like this, when you're being interrogated in Avenue Foch, and then taken to the camps if that isn't presence of the enemy, then I don't know what is, even more than storming a machine-gun emplacement, or manning an Ack-Ack gun not wanting to cast aspersions or downplay those VC honorees who won for precisely that…

So could the reason just be chauvinism?
